For Edith - instead of a card welcoming her safe arrival I made a little bird, micro bunting with her name and attatched to some twigs covered in lichen

Botanic Gardens Geelong

We have vacated our house due to a terrible pong coming from a dead rat in the wall! Boo! At least we get to do nice things, like take a walk around Geelong Botanic Gardens and use Nana's computer!

Autumn Color

Loving the colors of our Japanese Maple tree, the lichen on the old Magnolia and the Crepe Myrtle.

Crazy Scientist Day?

Crazy Scientist Day at school...that's no way to promote Science for kids, is it?
I think it should be Smart (and sexy) Scientist day and everyone can dress up like Mr Brian Cox!
Or maybe dress up as member of the truly crazy "Flat Earth Society" then go around with your head under a rock. Works for me.

Moi in the park

Out and about around with good friends in Healesville today. Lovely sunny Autumn day, we took a rather large group of children (scarey gang) and walked to market, they explored park, climbed trees, had a picnic, I bought good local honey and a kind friend took this rather arty b&w shot of moi.

Little Spaces

We have been in living in a 2 bedroom cottage for 3 months now.
It is surrounded by a small neighboring orchard /permaculture garden with bee hives, a small number of fruit/nut trees and small garden. It is really beautiful.
Our block, however is minuscule, it has a hills hoist, some herb and flower gardens and less than an hours worth of lawn mowing. This is a plus with me...at the moment, it is not too much to get ahead of me but, the kids can feel a little hemmed in. Lucky we have the Warburton bike track near by and an oval down the lane to keep us from feeling too enclosed. Our cottage has big windows, one of its best features, and even though it's small, it is sweet, simple and neat. Even though we are close to one of the most built up areas in the Yarra Valley it does not feel like suburbia. The noises we hear most are; peacocks, horses, sheep, tawny frog mouths, ducks and frogs. We love it.

Our Space saving Christmas tree this year was made from whole punched snow flake shapes, old swap cards, collected images from favorite old tv shows like Dr Katz, Eveongelion Neon Genisis, a sneaky little snipits of a cute little Loobylu illustration, various buttons, a tassel, sparkley shapes, wishing stones, felt flowers, anzac poppies and what ever we wanted to blu tac on. Great for a small space!
