Little Spaces

We have been in living in a 2 bedroom cottage for 3 months now.
It is surrounded by a small neighboring orchard /permaculture garden with bee hives, a small number of fruit/nut trees and small garden. It is really beautiful.
Our block, however is minuscule, it has a hills hoist, some herb and flower gardens and less than an hours worth of lawn mowing. This is a plus with the moment, it is not too much to get ahead of me but, the kids can feel a little hemmed in. Lucky we have the Warburton bike track near by and an oval down the lane to keep us from feeling too enclosed. Our cottage has big windows, one of its best features, and even though it's small, it is sweet, simple and neat. Even though we are close to one of the most built up areas in the Yarra Valley it does not feel like suburbia. The noises we hear most are; peacocks, horses, sheep, tawny frog mouths, ducks and frogs. We love it.

Our Space saving Christmas tree this year was made from whole punched snow flake shapes, old swap cards, collected images from favorite old tv shows like Dr Katz, Eveongelion Neon Genisis, a sneaky little snipits of a cute little Loobylu illustration, various buttons, a tassel, sparkley shapes, wishing stones, felt flowers, anzac poppies and what ever we wanted to blu tac on. Great for a small space!
